Welcoming Indian Consul to Chiang Mai and President of Indian Community of Chiang Mai
CMU’s Associate Professor Rome Chiranukrom, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Alumni Affairs, together with Associate Professor Dr. Thapin Patcharanurak, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Rangsima Wiwatwongwana, Head of Center for Research and Academic Services and Assistant Professor Dr. Rawee Jansong, welcomed Mr. Shirish Jain, Indian Consul to Chiang Mai and Mr. Ranjeet Singh, President of Indian Community of Chiang Mai on the occasion of their visit for discussion on the establishment of the Chiang Mai University Center of Indian Studies on October 4, 2017. The Center for Indian studies will be a center of expertise and excellence regarding India issues, generating academic values for people with a major focus on Indian contemporary issues. The center will not only serve Chiang Mai University (CMU) but will also engage with other organizations including the Indian government agencies, Indian communities, Indian universities and Thai universities. In addition, the center will link its knowledge and objectives with partner institutions in the Asian region and beyond.
